Sacred Body Oracle: Compassion

Compassion is often mistaken as softness, though the sword is more compassionate than false sweetness. Many will prefer a gentler path, yet only if it is fueled by strength can it be a real and true expression of relationship and humanity.

Qabalistic path-working sees this as the Pillar of Mercy—the path to the wisdom of the masculine Sun. Like governor and conception (yin-yang) meridian channels, it is infused with feminine energy (its opposite) for balance and wholeness.

Universal Law shows us that the one true value of life is found in the many expressions of the yin yang symbol: black and white halves imprinted with the seed of the other, encircled.

Similarly, and like the constellations in the sky, each one of the cells in your body is unfused with light. You will remember…just flip the switch and receive.

Sit or lie quietly and comfortably, breathing naturally. Feel your breath moving through your body, flowing gently into every organ, muscle and bone as you inhale; feel the breath cleansing stagnant energies with each exhalation. Be with this feeling for some time.

Imagine the river of energy moving up and down your spine, flowing up your back and looping up over your head as you inhale; falling down the front of your spine as you exhale. Breathe for a while, sensing this river of breath and energy.

Now breathe in the cosmic energy from outside of your body; into your hands and up through your arms, merging with the river inside as it runs up the back and down the front of your spinal column. Feel the cosmic energy moving into the crown of your head; and the soles of your feet, moving through your legs; both merging with your inner river as it flows up the back and down the front of your spine.

As you breathe deeply into your body, envision the stars lighting up in your cells. Love your body as you love the stars in the sky. They are you; you are them.

Sacred Body Oracle: Strength

Inner strength is a quality you will cultivate when taking exploratory risks that nudge you off your normal course.

The first step is inhabiting your body rather than separate from it, and rather than think about whether or not you are in your body, do something that takes you in! Try this:

Sit in an upright posture with your feet on the floor. Close your eyes and feel the connection between your pelvic floor and the chair. Breathe naturally for a while to settle into the position.

Begin to gently engage your pelvic floor: anus, vaginal and bladder control muscles. Squeeze and release 10-20 times. Then engage these muscles slowly during an exhale. Let them go as you inhale. Repeat this several times.

Now try engaging on the exhale, hold your breathe and the contraction for a count of 5. Slowly and gently release as you inhale. Repeat this several times.

You can perform all three aspects of this exercise anytime during the day. It is especially helpful if you are anxious, overwhelmed or know you are not in your body. It will hep you become more relaxed and present, as well as turn off your monkey mind!

Successfully moving away from the comfort of old habits can be challenging. It is an all-encompassing experience of pain or discomfort in your body, expressing yet simultaneously unattached to the emotions of the experience, awareness of the story that creates and is expanded by the emotions. Once you can employ all these aspects, you must also be willing to observe this loop of thought, emotions and physical pain from a distance and then reframe it.

Sacred Body Oracle: Balance

ORACLE READING: Your equilibrium is formed by the interpretations of your perceptions. Your eyes see, your nervous system responds, your endocrine system gears up, and your brain perceives. Your body actually creates the perceptions and then informs them–usually so rapidly the process and outcome are unconscious.

Your balance is influenced less by physical strength and flexibility, and much more by your interpretations of the “terrain.” Your interpretations are based on experience and memory. Center and clear yourself throughout the day to release the past, your habits and patterns. Come into each moment with a fresh perspective.

PRACTICE: Sit comfortably in a chair with your feet on the floor. Your posture is open and relaxed. Feel your breath moving through your body. Call your attention into the center of your head and be here now.

Imagine you are sitting on a throne in the center of your head. Envision a golden rose in your hand and begin to dust and clear your inner kingdom. Wash the walls, the ceiling and the floor inside your head. Cleanse your pineal and pituitary glands, and all of your brain parts.

Now feel all that old energy cascading down into your lower belly for digesting and releasing through your grounding into the center of the earth. Toss the golden dusting rose down too.

This clearing is intended to loosen the dust and dross of your analyzing mind and dig out your emotional trenches. It is intended to bring yourself back to your body in present time.

Can you find neutrality and ease with all things: no qualifications of good or bad; hot or cold; comfort or discontent; intensity or indifference?

Illness or Enlightenment?

Just a couple weeks ago, I learned that I have long-standing Lyme Disease.

I know this is energy, and I am certain that I will be fine.

This news actually helps me to make sense of many “healing events” throughout my life. Now I know why I feel so sick, for so long, when I have a cold or flu.

Honestly, I have a big fear of getting colds and flu and not recovering.

This thing called Lyme Disease is likely what lies beneath this fear as well as the regular aches in my joints and many other more minor sensations. It may even explain the current, very chronic and searing pain in my knees and sacrum.

Interesting. I have a platform for focused, intentional healing.

As foundations go, knowledge of this condition supports my journey and discovery of it origins. It moves my attention away from the physical symptoms and circular thinking of what might be thousands of potential causes. It removes the anxiety and worry created by some lengthy, protracted storyline and accompanying emotional swings, instead asking the correct questions.

What is the frequency of Lyme disease?

In the Background:

There’s been a lot of recent press about the origins of Lyme, and I don’t mean the town or the tick where it was first found. Official news reports suggest the House of Representatives has demanded an investigation by the Pentagon around the US military’s development of weaponized ticks between 1950-1975.

Yes, those origins.

NY Times best seller,“Bitten: the Secret History of Lyme Disease and Biological Weapons,” by Kris Newby, opens our eyes to the effects of this tick-born spirochete from her personal experience. It also enlightens us about the scientist who supposedly discovered the disease in 1982, yet also confessed to implanting the microbes into the ticks 30 years before.

In the Foreground:

Some “alternative health professionals” believe that everyone has Lyme disease. Some people may not be symptomatic, just like some people don’t get colds or the flu even in high season. These same people in whom the disease is latent also carry many virus’ that do not always present outwardly.

Consider this:

How would bio-terrorism affect a human attitude and relationship to life? Would the weaponized intent behind creating the disease make it emotionally-specific? What do war torn nations feel as they are invaded and lose control of their cultures? What are the emotions of being and feeling annihilated? Looks to me that these states of being match the Lyme storyline.

Anxiety. Fear. Anger. Rage. Helpless. Hopeless. Apathy. Depression.

Why would some people have no apparent symptoms, others have minor symptoms and some have debilitating experiences? What if it was you…where would you be most vulnerable? What did you carry into this world…from the beginning? What is your state of being: emotions, your thinking, beliefs and attitudes?

The original energy from inside me is fear and terror.

There is a bigger story here, though the important thing to remember is: these emotions are what needs to come out into the light and disposed of. Some of my most vulnerable places include the throat and solar plexus, both physically and metaphysically. This is how I got Lyme when I was a child–through the Universal Law of Correspondence–matching frequencies. At some point in time I matched the frequency of Lyme.

Now that I know, I can dive inside myself, find the source and choose a different frequency.

Why do some people collapse (freeze) while others fight or flee? What creates an opportunity in the midst of so many problems? Why do some people become a bit more enlightened as a result of their suffering while others ignore or deny its existence?

Sacred Body Oracle: Impressions

ORACLE: When you observe life with your attention inside the center of your head, your inner eye opens. From here you will find a place of neutrality in your emotional and mental impressions. Your perceptions are not affected by your past, nor the reactive bio-chemicals caused by stressful memories. You are more responsive and less reactive in your expressions. You learn to create and embrace your experiences from a higher state of being.

PRACTICE: Sit at the edge of an armless chair. Breathe in, lengthen your spine, twist at the waist, moving your upper body around to the left. Exhale to gently pull yourself further with your right hand on your left knee. Inhale in place, and exhale back to center. Repeat slowly and thoughtfully on each side, several times.

Twisting movements will help you to release tension in your power center at the solar plexus: organs, endocrine glands and energy. Because the third chakra (solar plexus) is linked to stress, reactivity and circular thinking (monkey mind), you are actually squeezing out the the stress toxins and your energy becomes more balanced as you twist. Your vital energies flow easily and effortless, cooling your brain and warming your belly; inspiring your thoughts and helping you anchor your energies in your body.

As you call your attention into the center of your head and the over- thinking down into your belly, you create natural boundaries and balanced relationships. How do you manage your energy, your boundaries and your relationships? Can you find that neutral place of observation inside the center of your head?

Sacred Body Oracle: Envisioning

ORACLE: Your ability to envision is limitless. Your ability to create change is also limitless. When you create the picture you want, holding a picture of your life that suits your soul, you align with your purpose and create each day with that at its center.

Do you arise each morning with a vision for your day? Do you set an intention as you drift off to sleep at night, knowing that your dreams will help you create your next step?

PRACTICE: Sit upright in a chair with your feet flat on the ground. Breathe naturally for a while, allowing yourself to settle into your body. Feel yourself anchoring in specific points: your feet, your pelvis, your hands, all along your spinal column.

Align your spine, relax your shoulders. Feel your head floating on top of your neck. Breathe in expanding your chest; breathe out and down the river of your spine into the pelvis. Inhale up the spine, into the center of your head. Breathe out and down into your lower abdomen. Continue breathing slowly and rhythmically, in this way for a few minutes.

Bring your attention into the center of your head. Look up through the top of your head and down at your body below. Soften your eyes, bringing your energy away from your forehead. Just be in the center of your head.

Take a moment to envision a rose. Notice its color, size, texture and how open it is. Hold the vision of your rose as long as possible. If the image disappears, recall it and hold the vision again. Continue to hold and recall the image of your rose for one minute. Expand the focus time as you become more able to hold the image longer.

Try this with other images, including a goal or intention, your next step—and anything you’d like to create.

Sacred Body Oracle: Soul Communication

ORACLE: As you relax your body and quiet your mind, you open natural communication between body and soul. Your inner voice matches the frequency of your heart and true essence. As it speaks, you listen.

Imagine you are floating on your back in the ocean, the Polestar shines brilliantly in the dark night sky. Close your eyes as you feel your body moving with the gentle roll of the waves—in toward shore and out again. Relax and breathe deeply in the river of your spinal column.

Your body’s rhythms: breath and cerebral spinal fluid, are in tune with the rhythms of the tides and currents, the spin of the earth on its axis, and the milky way galaxy.

PRACTICE: Lie on your back with your knees bent with your arms comfortable resting at about 45 degrees to your body. Your feet are on the floor. Gently roll your head from side to side in rhythm with your breath. Repeat about 5 times to each side.

Now roll your knees from side to side in the same way. Roll as far to the right as you inhale, and back to center as you exhale. Roll to the left as you inhale and back to center as you exhale. Repeat several times.

Try rolling your head and your knees simultaneously, gently moving side to side with the rhythm of your breath. Repeat several times. Are they moving to the same direction or in opposite ways? Try moving them together and in opposition. Repeat several times. What feels more natural and in tune with your personal inner rhythms?

How does relaxation and gentle movement play a role in your ability to converse with spirit?

Sacred Body Oracle: Clear Sight

Oracle: Nestled deep in the center of your head are the four pillars of the crystal palace: pineal, pituitary, thalamus and hypothalamus. When your attention is focused inward and the external senses are withdrawn, you are capable of seeing more clearly and feeling the hologram of the universe inside.

The Polestar at the very center of the Milky Way Galaxy is directly linked to your pineal gland through the crown. The seven stars of the Big Dipper are directly linked to your pituitary gland and its seven key energies through your crown.

There are many ways into center, though one of the easiest and fastest ways is through movement and conscious breath. Center yourself to enhance coordination. Balance your brain and open your inner sight with these alternating movements.

Practice: Stand comfortably with equal weight on both feet. Your knees are soft, your spine is straight, your chest is slightly lifted as you look straight ahead. Stand close to a wall in case you need extra support. Bring your attention into the center of your head; be in the centerline of your body, your body in the center of your energy field.

Begin by lifting one knee toward your belly. Change sides. Alternately lift and lower your knees toward your belly as though you are marching. Move slowly.

Continue this movement while touching your right knee with your left hand; your left knee with your right hand. Find a rhythm as you repeat this alternating hand to knee movement several times on each side.

Finish by standing still, bringing your attention into the center of your head and breathing up and down through the centerline of your body.

This can also be performed while lying on your back with your knees bent, feet on the floor. Your arms are extended straight up toward the ceiling. Alternately move opposite arm/leg couples, as though you are walking. See the audio link below for detailed instructions.

Sacred Body Oracle: Origins

READING: Liquid golden light moves gracefully between head and tail as your spinal column vibrates from your pelvis upward, resetting your foundation for health and well-being.

This is chi. It is also cerebral spinal fluid that nourishes your spinal cord, circulating through your brain, veins, arteries and nerve roots. Each plexus of circulation and communication is also a chakra energy point.

PRACTICE: Sit upright on the floor in a cross-legged posture; or in a chair with your feet on the ground; your hands are palms up on your knees or thighs. Straighten your spine as though you are reaching upward through the top of your head to the North Star, and downward through your tailbone into the center of the earth.

Close your eyes and feel the connection between your tailbone and the top of your head. Breathe up and down your spinal column between your head and tail. Inhale upward, exhale downward, just breathing for a few minutes.

With a straight spine, lean forward and back a few times, gently loosening your hip joints. Keep your spine straight. Now circle around in each direction; continue moving from the hip joints. Repeat 3-5 times on each side.

Begin to gently wiggle your bottom, sending a wave-like vibration up your spine. Vibrate like this for a few minutes. Notice how you feel in your body.

Do you feel the energy emanating through your centerline and throughout your body? Can you feel the freedom?

Sacred Body Oracle: Connection

READING: Walking barefoot increases sensation in your feet, opens the feet chakras and connects your body to the earth beneath. When you are aware, you can feel the earth’s energy tickling the bottom of your feet, encouraging the bubbling spring points on their soles to open and fill you with life and vitality.

Like walking in the sand, your toes grab, your calf muscles engage and your feet propel you forward. Walking barefoot is actually more supportive of your frame (muscles & bones) than a sport shoe. How is sure footedness connected to your root chakra? Can you enhance your relationship to present time by grounding and awakening your connection to the Planet?

PRACTICE: Lie on your back with your knees bent, feet flat on the floor. Inhale and exhale, gently rocking your tailbone up and down to the rhythm of your breath. Feel the bottoms of your feet opening as you push gently into the ground, squeezing your toes, as your tailbone rocks upward. Engage and release the pelvic floor muscles as you repeat these slow, rocking movements.

Allow your body to be aligned and neutral. Your bones are heavy as you relax into the floor. Please be kind to your body—conservative in your movements. If you tend toward dramatic movements, take it all down to about 25% of your usual range and speed. These are micro movements, designed to create awareness and ease in your body, becoming aware of the subtle energies moving through you.

Imagine your pelvis is a clock: 12 o’clock is your belly button; your pubic bone is 6 o’clock, and the bones on the front of your pelvis are 3 & 9 o’clock.

Gently rock your pelvis between 6 & 12, flattening the back as you exhale, arching slightly as you inhale. Use your belly and pelvic floor muscles to create this movement. Follow your breath as you tip your tail up, flattening your back; arching slightly as your tailbone tips downward.  Repeat a few times.

Come back to center and breathe for a bit.

Now begin to sway your knees side to side. Keeping your shoulders on the floor, follow your breath as you twist at the waistline, gently rolling your pelvis between 3 & 9. Now try slowing  and shortening the movement. Continue gently rolling your pelvis side to side while keeping the knees pointing up toward the ceiling. Use your abdominal and pelvic floor muscles to roll side to side between 3 & 9. Repeat a few times.

Come back to center and breathe for a bit.

Now wag your tail, swiveling your pelvis and hiking one hip up and then the other. Follow your breath as you gently wag your tail, moving your pelvis up on one side, down on the other. Keeping your shoulders and ribcage stable, continue to gently wag your tail a few times on each side.

Come back to center and breathe for a bit.

Now, gently rock and roll and your pelvis around the clock, circling from 12 to 3, to 6 to 9, 9 to 12 several times. Follow your breath, use your belly and pelvic floor muscles. Move slowing and purposefully. Try not to be rigid and intense.

Come back into center and breathe for a bit. This is an exercise in effortless movement—using the breath to direct, and the core to drive the movements. Repeat a few times in each direction.
